@ Angie: trailhead in southeast corner of Ashworth Pool lot will get you started. there’s no ‘wrong’ way. check the map in on the Center Trail page and reply again if you have specific questions.
I would like to start running the Center trails but don’t know where to start or exactly where they go. Any direction and advice would be awesome!
Hey, Kathi… Registration for Syc is here: http://www.centraliowatrails.org/blog/?page_id=693
I cannot find the registration on this page. I have looked all over different times. I want to run the Sycamore 8 as I have done in the past. My cell is 707-0729

Rob, TAKMBD is Saturday, Oct. 4 this year.
Hey i wanted yo know why the take your kid mtbing day is on a skool day. kind’ve ghey, or was the date posted for the 07 ride? i go to dowling and my mom barely ever lets me ride at the central trails because, well i don’t even know why. But if its “take your kid mtbing day”, shes suddenly up for it. funny shit.
Ray: Whiterock is expansive. 7 Oaks is Challenging. Ahquabi is fast/open. Center and Banner are mostly closed due to flood damage, but the Taco Ride still rolls on Wednesdays… Hit us again when you’re gonna be in town and I bet a local can show you around.
Hey guys –
I’m going to be visiting Iowa at the end of August & would love your advice on the best places to ride around Des Moines or Dallas County. Obviously, your hard work has created lots of opportunities. What’s best for a intermediate rider on a borrowed fully rigid bike? I might be game to visit Banner Lakes & Aquabi, the Center Trails, 7 Oaks or the Whiterock Conservancy. I ride with the Swamp Club of Florida. Our best maintained trails are also on parks that were former mines.

If you are talking about the one right by the little river and next to the soccer field I think that is just from local riders hitting it. I get over there every so ofter since my son has soccer practice there once a week. It is a very nice little setup and fun as heck to ride.
Hey guys, i was wondering who built this cool little dirt trail off that one near jordan creek mall and dahl’s. There’s dirt jumps, and some nice kickers.
Looking for help in promoting the 2008 Pieathlon, such as listing us on your event calendar, getting a discount on entry fees for your members, being an exhibitor…..
Thanks Pete, keep coming back. We have more coming soon! This reminds me that I need to get the Contact page added yet. Doh!
Ed
Ed: Just wanted to tell you what an incredible job you’ve done with the CITA site. I used to not visit it very much cause it didn’t change a whole lot and it wasn’t very interesting. That has all changed. Congrats on a great job and THANKYOU to everyone at CITA who helps maintain my second home…the trails!!
Pete Basso
Ed, I have some comments and photos from the kid mtbing day, but I left my access codes, etc at work. I’ll upload content to the site (or to you) in the coming days.
